Bengals Lose Starting Defensive End For year

Adam Scheftler of ESPN.com is reporting that the Cincinnati Bengals will be without defensive end Antwan Odom for the rest of the 2009 season after he ruptured his Achilles tendon. Odom had eight sacks this season.

According to Mike Florio at ProFootballTalk, Frostee Rucker will likely replace Odom in the starting lineup. Odom was tied for the lead in the NFL for sacks before the injury. Odom went down on a chop block by Texans tight end Owen Daniels.

The Bengals also lost starting defensive tackle Domato Peko on the third play of the game. The results of his MRI are not yet available. One thing is now for sure, the Bengals will be busy on Tuesday trading for a lineman.
