Charlie Campbell and Jim Flynn of Pewter Report are reporting that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have have brought in some kickers for tryouts. Steve Duemig of WDAE is reporting that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have now released starting kicker Mike Nugent.
According to Duemig, the Buccaneers brought in kickers Brandon Contu and Shane Andrus in for tryouts. Andrus was on the Buccaneers roster after the 2008 season, but he was released before training camp.
The Buccaneers will not be seeing Matt Bryant anytime soon. PFT is reporting that Bryant was in contact with the New York Giants, who could be interested in replacing current kicker Lawrence Tynes.
