The Philadelphia Eagles have announced that linebacker Omar Gaither will miss the rest of the 2009 season. Gaither has been suffering from a Lisfranc sprain in his right foot, and will need surgery.
Gaither was injured in a loss to the raiders last week, and he was replaced on obvious running downs by Jerehmiah Trotter. Luckily, the Eagles acquired Will Witherspoon, who has more range than Trotter.
Gaither was already replacing starting middle linebacker Stewart Bradley, who was placed on injured reserve before the start of the 2009 season. Gaither will likely be placed on injured reserve.
