The Cleveland Browns have announced that they have sent former first round wide receiver Braylon Edwards to the New York Jets. The Jets gave up receiver Chansi Stuckey, linebacker Jason Trusnik, and two draft picks.
The Jets will give up a fifth round pick and a third round pick that could turn into a second round pick if the Jets get a certain amount of catches out of Edwards. Edwards will start right away, and Stuckey should get a chance in the slot ASAP.
The emergence of Mohamed Massaquoi could have been one reason that Edwards was traded, but the NFL is also looking into a rumor that Edwards got in a fight with a friend of LeBron James outside a Cleveland night club.
