Jets Lose Running Back For Rest Of 2009

Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk is reporting that New York Jets running back Leon Washington will miss the rest of the 2009 season. PFT is reporting that Washington fractured his fibula in their week seven showdown against the Oakland Raiders.

According to PFT, Washington will need surgery after the bone broke through his skin. Surgery is needed to prevent infection. Surgery will likely be preformed tonight or tomorrow. Washington was injured on a six yard run.

The New York Daily News is now reporting that Washington broke his right leg, more information should come later, when the team announces their injuries. Washington is seeking a new contract, which expires after the season.
