The Detroit News is reporting that the Detroit Lions have placed defensive end Copeland Bryan on injured reserve, and signed free agent linebacker Vinny Ciurciu. Bryan sprained is MCL in his right knee.
Ciurcui will add depth at middle and outside linebacker, and will add stability to the Lions special teams. The Detroit Free Press is reporting that Ciurcui worked out as a fullback on Thursday, and that he could be used there until Jerome Felton recovers.
Ciurcui played fullback in college at Clemson before he converted to a linebacker at Boston College. Bryan spent time with the Buffalo Bills in 2008, and Ciurcui with the Carolina Panthers.
