Christopher L. Gasper of the Boston Globe is reporting that the New England Patriots have re-signed linebackers Tully Banta-Cain and Eric Alexander. Mike Reiss of ESPNBoston is reporting the Patriots released tight end Michael Matthews.
In addition to Matthews, Adam Scheftler of ESPN.com is reporting that the New England Patriots have released wide receiver Joey Galloway, who has been a healthy scratch the last two weeks.
Galloway played in three games in 2009, and recorded 7 receptions for 67 yards. Matthews played a reserve role at tight end and on Special teams.
