Patriots Try Out Former Steelers Outside Linebacker

KFFL.com is reporting that the New England Patriots worked out free agent outside linebacker Bruce Davis. Davis spent his rookie 2008 season with the Pittsburgh Steelers, where he was a non-factor.

Davis competed with Arnold Harrison and Patrick Bailey this offseason for jobs at outside linebacker, but he failed to make a lasting impact. Davis played in 5 games in 2008, but he failed to record a stat.

Davis played defensive end at UCLA, where he was a first team All-American in 2006 when he recorded 12.5 sacks and 17.5 tackles for a loss. Davis was a second team All-American in 2007.
