Mike Reiss of ESPNBoston.com is reporting that the New England Patriots had a physical with former Patriots linebacker Junior Seau. The Patriots are in need of an inside linebacker after an injury to Jerod Mayo, and the retirement of Tedy Bruschi.
According to Reiss, Seau is only considering a return to his NFL for his love of Bill Belichick and the Kraft family. Seau, 40, is destined for a Hall of Fame stay after seasons in New England, Miami, and San Diego.
Seau has been to 12 pro bowls in his NFL career, although his play level has really dropped as of late. Seau last signed with the Patriots last December after the Patriots placed linebacker Adalius Thomas on IR.
