The Associated Press is reporting that the Cincinnati Bengals have signed free agent running back Larry Johnson. Johnson will serve as Cedric Benson's primary backup, but for now, he will be the Bengals fourth running back.
Johnson signed a one year $255,290, veteran minimum contract that will run out after the season. Johnson will also earn $4,000,000 that is guaranteed from Kansas City. To make room for Johnson, the Bengals waived defensive tackle Orien Harris.
The Bengals are no noobs when it comes to taking chances on risky players. Some of them reap rewards. Chris Henry, Cedric Benson, and Tank Johnson have all been able to resurrect their NFL careers.
