Adam Scheftler of ESPN.com is reporting via twitter that the San Diego Chargers have placed linebacker Jyles Tucker on injure reserve. Tucker was adding depth at outside linebacker behind Shawne Merriman and Shaun Phillips.
Tucker was dealing with an ankle injury. Kevin Acee of the San Diego Union-Tribune is reporting that the Chargers have signed offensive tackle Corey Clark from their practice squad to replace Tucker on the 53-man roster.
Tucker only recorded four tackles this season after he started 12 games in 2008. Tucker also recorded 5.5 sacks in 2008, when he replaced the injured Shawne Merriman. Larry English will now see more snaps.
