Chargers Sign Tackle Jon Runyan

After a season ending injury to Chargers starting right tackle Jeromey Clary, the San Diego Chargers knew where to look for help on their offensive line woes. The Chargers brought in veteran free agent tackle Jon Runyan in for a visit today, and decided to sign him.

The Chargers signed Runyan to a one year deal and placed normal starter Jeromey Clary on season ending injury reserve. Clary was dealing with an ankle injury. Corey Clark could also start for Clary.

Clark was promoted from the Chargers practice squad five days ago, when San Diego placed outside linebacker Jyles Tucker on injured reserve. Brandyn Dombrowski, who replaced Clary when he got injured also has a voice.

Fanball.com writes that they do not expect Clary to be handed his starting job back in 2010, when he returns. Expect the Chargers to search through free agency and the draft for their future right tackle
