Eagles Swap Out Cornerbacks

The Philadelphia Eagles have had quite the new look at cornerback ever since they announced that Ellis Hobbs has been placed on injured reserve. Since then, Dimitri Patterson has become their third cornerback, and depth has been a major concern.

The Eagles announced today that they have waived cornerback Jack Ikegwuonu, and signed conerback Geoffrey Pope of of the Cincinatti Bengals practice squad. To add to the Eagles woes at corner Asante Samuel is now dealing with a stinger, but he should play in week 12.

Right now Asante Samuel and Sheldon Brown are the Eagles starting cornerbacks, while Dimitri Patterson is the Eagles third cornerback. Patterson saw some game action for Samuel, who as I previously mentioned, was dealing with a stinger.

Ramzee Robinson serves as the Eagles dime cornerback. Robinson was signed when the Eagles placed Ellis Hobbs on injured reserve. Which leaves Pope with the fifth cornerback spot, which adds depth and helps on special teams.
