The Washington Redskins have signed quarterback Richard Bartel from the Jacksonville Jaguars practice squad. Bartel will serve as the Redskins third quarterback, which would have been Colt Brennan.
Bartel is sitting behind Todd Collins, and Jason Campbell, so it is unlikely that he will see some game action this season. The move is curious because both Redskins quarterbacks are all listed as healthy.
The Redskins also released quarterback Andre` Woodson from their practice squad, and signed fullback Jonathan Evans to their practice squad. Evan was on the Redskins roster during the preseason, but he failed to make their 53-man roster.
