Browns To Use Cribbs As A Running Back

Eric Mangini told the associated press that the Browns will consider using Joshua Cribbs as a traditional running back in the next three weeks. Cribbs, a colligate quarterback, has played wide receiver in the NFL.

Cribbs has been used mainly as a kick returner, punt returner, and on kick coverage. But he has been used at receiver more in 2009. In 2008, the Browns gave Cribbs a lot of snaps out of the shotgun.

Last week Cribbs ran for 87 yards in a win over the Steelers, where he ran mainly out of the wildcat. The Browns have been working on signing Cribbs to a long-term contract.
