Lindsay Jones of the Denver Post is reporting that the Oakland Raiders have named Charlie Frye their starting quarterback for at least week 15. Bruce Gradkowski started previously for JaMarcus Russell, who was benched.
Frye spent 2008 with the Seattle Seahawks, and he previously played with the Cleveland Browns. Raiders coach Tom Cable told the press that he thinks Frye gives the Raiders the best chance to win in week 15.
Cable said that J.P. Losman, who the Raiders signed yesterday, will serve as the Raiders third quarterback. Frye has only started one game in the past two seasons, and the Raiders might not see better results than they did with Russell.
