The Indianapolis Colts have announced that they have placed wide receiver Anthony Gonzalez on injured reserve, ending his 2009 season. Gonzalez has been inactive since week one, when he suffered a knee injury.
Colts president Bill Polian said in a statement that he looks forward to seeing Gonzalez play with the Colts in 2010. In 30 games as a Colt, Gonzalez has caught 94 passes for 1240 yards and seven touchdowns.
With the breakout play of Pierre Garcon and Austin Collie, the Colts must decide who will be their starting receivers in 2010. After catching 57 passes in 2008, it was looking like Gonzalez would become the next Marvin Harrison.
