Did Curtis Painter Just Save Jim Sorgi's Job

A couple of weeks ago I was ready out of Pro Football Weekly, the only football magazine I subscribe to, and one of their writers were saying that the Colts could release Jim Sorgi after the season.

With the poor play by Painter today, I can see the Colts keeping three quarterbacks again in 2010. Painter failed to throw a touchdown, and made several turnovers, including a play where he was striped from behind, and the Jets returned the fumble for a touchdown.

The Colts also carried Drew Willy as their third quarterback today. Willy did not hit the field a single time. Painter was 4 of 11 and threw for 44 yards and an interception in his NFL debut. If the Colts can carry two healthy kickers, they can carry three healthy quarterbacks in 2010.
