Michael C. Wright is reporting on twitter that the Jacksonville Jaguars have released offensive tackle/offensive guard Maurice Williams. To take up Williams roster spot, the Jaguars signed cornerback Kennard Cox.
Cox was on the Jaguars practice squad. Cox is the cousin of Tampa Bay Buccaneers cornerback Torrie Cox, Buffalo Bills wide receiver Roscoe Parrish, and San Francisco 49ers safety Marcus Hudson.
Cox has also played with the Bills and the Packers. Cox was drafted by the Bills in the seventh round of the 2008 draft. Williams has started in 96 NFL games, and could add depth at guard for some teams.
