Mike Shanahan Could Replace Meyer In Gatorville

Peter King of Sports Illustrated is reporting that former Denver Broncos head coach Mike Shanahan would be interested in becoming the next head coach of the Florida Gators. Florida pursued Shanahan in 2003.

Shanahan has been linked to the Washington Redskins, who recently hired Bruce Allen as their general manager. Shanahan may be interested in the Gators job, but they Gators may not be interested in Shanahan.

ProFootballTalk seems to think that the Redskins will hire Shanahan as their next coach in the next seven days. Jerry Gray has been interviewed already to please the NFL's "Rooney Rule". Shanahan took his name out of consideration for the Buffalo Bills job earlier this week.
