Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk is reporting that the Washington Redskins have contacted former Denver Broncos head coach Mike Shanahan about coaching the Redskins in 2010. According to Mike Kliss of the Denver Post, these rumors are true.
This report come a day after former guru Vinny Cerrato resigned as the Redskins president, and former Buccaneers GM Bruce Allen was hired. Allen and Shanahan worked under Al Davis in Oakland.
According to PFT, the Redskins will try to make either Greg Blache or Jerry Gray beleive they have a chance to run the team to comply with the Rooney rule. According to Kliss, the Redskins hired Allen to lure Shanahan to Washington.
