
The New York Daily News is reporting that New York Giants wide receiver Steve Smith is looking for a contract extension after the season. Smith is signed through 2010, and he would like to stay in New York for the long haul.
Smith has caught ninety passes for 1,093 yards and six touchdowns in a crowded Giants receiving core. Smith is expected to make $550,000 next season, which is very low compared to the level he is playing at.
According to the New York Daily News, Smith could be signed to a deal worth as much as ten million dollars a season. Smith emerged as a rookie, becoming Eli Manning's slot receiver. Last season Smith became Manning's top target.
