Tedy Bruschi Takes Aim At Colts

"When you compare the '09 Colts to the '07 Patriots, I am going to say something that a lot of people are thinking but aren't saying: At least the '07 Patriots had the guts to go for it. That's what they did, that's what the Indianapolis Colts didn't do, and that's their problem."

These are the words out of the mouth of former New England Patriots linebacker Tedy Bruschi. In 2007, when Bruschi was still with the Patriots, New England decided to try to go for a perfect record and not rest their starters in the end of the season.

We know the rest of the story. The Patriots make their way to the super bowl undefeated, and then are crushed by the Giants in a last second drive. I believe that Bruschi is just venting over the still painful defeat.

Isaac Bruce To Retire, Could Start Last Game

Jim Thomas of the St. Louis Post Dispatch is reporting that San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Isaac Bruce will likely retire after the season. According to Thomas, Bruce is 75% sure he will retire after the season.

Josh Morgan has been starting at wide receiver in Bruce's place in 2009. Morgan told the Sacramento Bee that he would let Bruce start in week 17. Michael Crabtree and Morgan have shown they are the 49ers future at wide receiver.

Bruce has the second most receiving yards in NFL history, but most of his yards came when he was playing in St. Louis, during the greatest show on turf. Bruce, 37, has been a healthy scratch in six games this season.

Colts Urge Fans To Stop Posting Messages On Caldwell

A My Colts forum moderator called "TubaGuy" started a topic on the Colts forums title "Enough Is Enough". In statement released by "TubaGuy" he stated "Up to this point we have been letting people vent and get their emotion out. I think it has been needed, and we didn't want to shut it down. However, now it's getting to the point of being childish and VERY repetitive. "

PFT had a great response to the happenings...

In a tweet from "MyColts," the Twitter page of MyColts.net, a fan site owned by the Colts, the team says that "Tuba Guy is a fan and a volunteer," which apparently is supposed to make us regard the message as irrelevant. The problem, as we pointed out in response, is that TubaGuy also is a moderator, which means that the Colts have authorized him to speak on their behalf within the confines of the team-owned message boards. Moreover, the fact that the Colts have not removed their moderator's post asking fans to talk about something other than Sunday's game ratifies TubaGuy's words. (We suppose we'll eventually get an e-mail from someone with the Colts explaining that the person who handles the Twitter page for MyColts.net is also a "fan and a volunteer.")

Bears Shock The Vikings In Overtime

A 40 yard bomb in overtime from Jay Cutler to Devin Aromashodu sealed the deal in overtime, as the seven point underdog Chicago Bears outlasted the Minnesota Vikings. Aromashodu's career game lead the Vikings to victory.

Aromashodu caught seven passes for 150 yards and a touchdown, which bested his season stats in only one game. A Adrian Peterson fumble set up the game winning touchdown pass. Peterson had a solid game, but he continues to struggle with ball security.

Peterson ran 24 times for 94 yards and two touchdowns while he caught three passes for 43 yards. Bears running back Matt Forte ran 21 times for 74 yards. Hunter Hillenmeyer who forced the game winning fumble also totaled 15 tackles.

Brett Favre threw a touchdown pass to Sidney Rice just before the end of regulation. With the Vikings latest loss, the Saints have now cliched the first seed in the playoffs. If the Eagles beat the Cowboys on Sunday, the Eagles will steal home field advantage from the Vikings.

Vikings-Bears MNF Inactives

The Chicago Bears have named WR Devin Hester, S Al Afalava, S Kevin Payne, DT Matt Toeaina, P Richmond McGee, WR Jaquean Iglesias, G Lance Louis, T James Marten inactive for tonights game.

The Minnesota Vikings have declared TE Garrett Mills, WR Jaymar Johnson, DL Jayme Mitchell, LB Jeremy Leman, C Jon Cooper, CB Karl Paymah, DL Pat Williams, QB Sage Rosenfels inactive for action tonight.

Mike Shanahan Could Replace Meyer In Gatorville

Peter King of Sports Illustrated is reporting that former Denver Broncos head coach Mike Shanahan would be interested in becoming the next head coach of the Florida Gators. Florida pursued Shanahan in 2003.

Shanahan has been linked to the Washington Redskins, who recently hired Bruce Allen as their general manager. Shanahan may be interested in the Gators job, but they Gators may not be interested in Shanahan.

ProFootballTalk seems to think that the Redskins will hire Shanahan as their next coach in the next seven days. Jerry Gray has been interviewed already to please the NFL's "Rooney Rule". Shanahan took his name out of consideration for the Buffalo Bills job earlier this week.

Caldwell's Approval Rating Cut In Half

After week 15, Jim Caldwell's fan approval rating was 80%. After the Colts week 16 loss to the New York Jets, Caldwell's approval rating was at 42% according to a poll on ESPN's SportsNation.

Colts wide receiver Reggie Wayne told Bob Kravitz of the Indianapolis Star that Wayne wished that Caldwell would have kept the Colts starters in for the whole game. Wayne said that he hoped in achieving a perfect season.

"I guess there's a bigger picture. We all wanted to play, but the big dog (Caldwell) made a decision and we have to roll with that decision. We came out after halftime and felt like we were starting to roll and could score some points, but the manager took us off the mound."

Ravens Quarterback Looking To Be Traded

Baltimore Ravens backup quarterback Troy Smith wants to be traded according to Smith's agent, Ralph Cindrich. Smith is scheduled to become a restricted free agent after the season. Smith is unhappy as a backup.

Troy Smith's value to the Ravens is not that high considering their long-term commitment to Joe Flacco. Smith wants to go to a team where he can receive more playing time and/or compete for a starting job.

Ravens head coach John Harbaugh released a statement after he learned that Smith wanted to be traded, saying that he wants Smith to stay a Baltimore Raven.

Redskins Interveiw Former NFL DB For Head Coaching Vacancy

Andrea Kremer of NBC is reporting that the Washington Redskins have interviewed their secondary coach Jerry Gray for their head coaching vacancy. The Redskins interviewed Gray to comply with the NFL's "Rooney Rule".

Many around the league think that the Redskins are using Gray, and that Gray is not a serious candidate for the Redskins head coaching vacancy. The Redskins are rumored to be halfway in bed with the idea of Mike Shanahan as their next head coach.

Redskins defensive coordinator Greg Blache did not interview for the Redskins job. The "Rooney Rule" states that the team must interview minority candidates for head coach and front office vacancies.

Panthers Coach John Fox To Return To Team In 2010

ESPN.com is reporting that John Fox will likely be back in Carolina in 2010. According to Tom Sorenson of the Charlotte Observer, both Marty Hurney and John Fox will be given a chance to return to the Panthers next season.

Fox will be in the last year of his contract in 2010, and is scheduled to make $6 million. According to Sorenson, Fox will not be offered a contract extension. The Panthers play has improved of late.

With the emergence of Matt Moore, and the improved play of Julius Peppers, the Panthers have figured out a winning formula. The Panthers have won three out of their last four games. Jonathan Stewart and DeAngelo Williams both ran for over 1,000 yards.

Chad Henne The Best Fins QB Since Dan Marino?

Edgar Thompson is reporting on his twitter page that Chad Henne is the first Miami Dolphins quarterback to throw back to back 300 yard passing games since Dan Marino did in 1998. Dan Marino dished out some praise, and criticism for Henne after the game on Sunday.

Marino said that Henne needs to improve his touch passes, but that he likes his presence and he thinks that Henne will be a very good pro quarterback. Pro Football Weekly wrote that Henne's top issue is his accuracy.

Henne is 7-5 as a starter in Miami, most of which were without the Miami Dolphins best player, Ronnie Brown. Henne has thrown for over 300 yards in three out of the last four games.

Mike Sims-Walker Unhappy About Team

Mike Sims-Walker tweeted on his twitter that he is unhappy about the amount of times he has been targeted last week against the Patriots.

That was embarrassing, and ur guess is as good as mine why they don't throw me the ball!!!

Sims-Walker caught two passes for 19 yards in a loss to the Patriots yesterday. After catching just 16 passes in 2008, Sims-Walker has caught 61 passes for 841 yards and seven touchdowns. Sims-Walker has caught 14 passes in the past 5 weeks.

The Jaguars have lost four out of their last five games, and it seems obvious that Sims-Walker would be frustrated.

Redskins To Trade Albert Haynesworth After the season

Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk is reporting that the Washington Redskins could trade or release defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth after the season. If the Redskins dump Haynesworth there will not be a cap penalty with the salary cap out of the picture in 2010.

Haynesworth signed a contract last season that promised him $40 million dollars in guaranteed money. Haynesworth signed a seven-year $100 million dollar contract last season. After the Redskins lost to the Giants, Haynesworth questioned Greg Blache's scheme.

Last week Haynesworth was sent home from practice after a long conversation with Redskins head coach Jim Zorn. Haynesworth was also fined $10,000 after he fought with Giants running back Brandon Jacobs.

Bills Interested In Charlie Weis

John Murphy of WIVB 4 is reporting that the Buffalo Bills have contacted former Notre Dame head coach Charlie Weis. The Bills are interested in hiring Weis for their head coaching vacancy in 2010.

According to the station, the Bills have contacted Weis multiple times recently, and Weis is reportedly interested. The Bills interviewed Weis before they eventually hired Mike Mularkey in 2004.

Weis developed Tom Brady in New England and Brady Quinn and Jimmy Clausen at Notre Dame. Weis spent five years as the head coach at Notre Dame after he spent time as the Patriots offensive coordinator.

Caldwell's Message In Gameplan: We Are Going To Win The Super Bowl

Jim Caldwell has promised fans a super bowl victory according to the folks at 18to88.com. Caldwell decided to pull Peyton Manning and some other key Colts when the Colts had a five point lead over the Jets.

Jim Caldwell is a brave man. He just promised Colts fans everywhere that the 2009 Colts are going to win the Super Bowl. And woe unto him if he doesn't fulfill that promise. Unfair on our part? Yes. Caldwell was just doing what he thought was best for his team. Unwise on his part? Yes, I think it was terribly unwise.

What we saw today at Lucas Oil Stadium was political suicide. Fans aren't fair. Fans aren't rational. Fans don't care if you start your head coaching career 14-0. In Indianapolis that generates less goodwill than you might think... especially when you willfully throw away a chance at a perfect 19-0 season.

Good stuff. This is a team to watch come January.

Did Curtis Painter Just Save Jim Sorgi's Job

A couple of weeks ago I was ready out of Pro Football Weekly, the only football magazine I subscribe to, and one of their writers were saying that the Colts could release Jim Sorgi after the season.

With the poor play by Painter today, I can see the Colts keeping three quarterbacks again in 2010. Painter failed to throw a touchdown, and made several turnovers, including a play where he was striped from behind, and the Jets returned the fumble for a touchdown.

The Colts also carried Drew Willy as their third quarterback today. Willy did not hit the field a single time. Painter was 4 of 11 and threw for 44 yards and an interception in his NFL debut. If the Colts can carry two healthy kickers, they can carry three healthy quarterbacks in 2010.

Manning, Addai Watch Colts Lose From The Sideline

The Colts decided that they were going to look beyond their chances to win all 16 games of the season, and rest their starters. With a 15-14 lead in the 3rd quarter, the Colts replaced Peyton Manning with rookie quarterback Curtis Painter.

With Manning out of the game, the Jets went on a 15-0 run that started with a Curtis Painter fumble that was returned for a touchdown. The first score of the game came on a long run by Joseph Addai, who left the game after the first quarter.

Brad Smith scored first in the third quarter when he returned a kickoff 106 yards for a touchdown. Shonn Greene tore the Colts reserve defense into pieces in the second half. Austin Collie lead the Colts in receiving yards and Joseph Addai lead the Colts in rushing yards.

Steve Smith Looking For A New Contract

The New York Daily News is reporting that New York Giants wide receiver Steve Smith is looking for a contract extension after the season. Smith is signed through 2010, and he would like to stay in New York for the long haul.

Smith has caught ninety passes for 1,093 yards and six touchdowns in a crowded Giants receiving core. Smith is expected to make $550,000 next season, which is very low compared to the level he is playing at.

According to the New York Daily News, Smith could be signed to a deal worth as much as ten million dollars a season. Smith emerged as a rookie, becoming Eli Manning's slot receiver. Last season Smith became Manning's top target.

Colts Place Anthony Gonzalez On IR

The Indianapolis Colts have announced that they have placed wide receiver Anthony Gonzalez on injured reserve, ending his 2009 season. Gonzalez has been inactive since week one, when he suffered a knee injury.

Colts president Bill Polian said in a statement that he looks forward to seeing Gonzalez play with the Colts in 2010. In 30 games as a Colt, Gonzalez has caught 94 passes for 1240 yards and seven touchdowns.

With the breakout play of Pierre Garcon and Austin Collie, the Colts must decide who will be their starting receivers in 2010. After catching 57 passes in 2008, it was looking like Gonzalez would become the next Marvin Harrison.

Troy Smith To Leave Ravens After Season

The Baltimore Sun is reporting that Baltimore Ravens backup quarterback Troy Smith will look for a chance to be a starting quarterback in free agency after the end of the season. Smith is scheduled to be a restricted free agent.

Smith is not interested in switching positions like a lot of speedy college quarterbacks have since entering the NFL. Smith was once considered the Ravens leading candidate to start at quarterback in 2008.

Ravens offensive coordinator called Smith a quarterback first and an athlete second. The Ravens like to use a formation where starting quarterback Joe Flacco lines up at wide receiver, and where Troy Smith takes a shotgun snap.

Lions Place Matthew Stafford On IR

The Detroit Free Press is reporting that the Detroit Lions have placed quarterback Matthew Stafford on injured reserve. Stafford will miss the last two games of the season and have minor knee surgery.

According the Lions head coach Jim Schwartz, the surgery will be to take out several irritants and debris. Stafford has not played the past two weeks, and Daunte Culpepper has started in his place.

Stafford started ten games this season after he was drafted with the first pick in the 2009 draft. Stafford threw 13 touchdowns and 20 interceptions. Stafford also threw for 2,267 passing yards.

Ochocinco to Give away $2000 For TD Celebration

The Cincinnati Bengals are reporting on their Twitter page that Bengals wide receiver Chad Ochocinco will throw $2,000 into the stands if he scores a touchdown in week 16.

According to the Bengals, Ochocinco will put 2000 $1 bills in a pinata and throw it into the stands. For some reason Ochocinco has a strange obsession with doing things like a mexican.

Ealier this season, Ochocinco wore a sombrero and a poncho after he scored a touchdown. Last week Ochocinco knelt and pointed to the sky, remembering Chris "Slim" Henry.

Panthers Place Delhomme On Injured Reserve

Adam Schefter of ESPN is reporting that the Carolina Panthers have placed quarterback Jake Delhomme on injured reserve. Matt Moore will start in Delhomme's place for the last two games in 2009.

Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk is reporting that Delhomme may not return to the Panthers in 2010. Delhomme is suffering from a swolen finger, that has kept him out of play the last few weeks.

Last week Moore threw for 299 yards and three touchdowns in an upset victory over the Minnesota Vikings. According to ESPN, the Panthers are now expected to promote Hunter cantwell from their practice squad.

Week 16 Power Rankings: Vikings Drop

1. Indianapolis Colts - Any team that is undefeated after Christmas deserves to be number one, no matter how close their games have been. Best player in the game leads the Colts in dramatic fashion.
2. San Diego Chargers - This team is on fire. Might even be better than the Colts. Vincent Jackson makes Phillip Rivers look so good.
3. New Orleans Saints - The Saints seem like a team that will not do well in the playoffs. Have a good quarterback, but their secondary concerns me.
4. Philadelphia Eagles - DeSean Jackson adds the big play threat that Donovan McNabb has not had since Terrell Owens.
5. Minnesota Vikings - This team is going down fast. Favre saga is bringing the team down. Hurts that Peterson has not been himself.
5. Dallas Cowboys - Beating the Saints in the super dome shows a lot. Maybe I am underestimating this team.
6. New York Giants - I have a feeling this team is also a bit overrated, but they are hard to ignore with a solid running game.
7. Cincinnati Bengals - When I think about the Bengals, I think about how inconsistent they are. Chris Henry is in everyones mind right now.
8. Arizona Cardinals - Strong team in a weak division.
9. Green Bay Packers - Will lock up the top wildcard spot. A good team with a hard schedule.
10. New England Patriots - poor play by the Broncos bump the Patriots back into my top ten. It is hard to believe a team with so much baggage is still in the playoff hunt.

Michael Vick Wins Humanitarian Award

The Philadelphia Eagles have awarded quarterback Michael Vick with the Ed Block courage award which recognizes a player who improves the lives of neglected children. According to the eagles, the group raises awareness for neglected children.

Vick, obviously, is a controversial choice for this award after he was released from jail for federal dog-fighting charges less than a year ago. According to PFT, the award also recognizes that the recipient displays good sportsmanship.

Eagles players voted on who should be awarded the honor, and to most everyone's surprise, Vick was given the honor. Vick in fact was voted unanimously. PETA, of course, issued a statement. "The Philadelphia Eagles fumbled when they gave Michael Vick the Ed Block Courage Award, which was named after a man who advocated in behalf of abused children."

Brian Brohm To Start In Week 16

The Buffalo news is reporting that the Buffalo Bills will start Brian Brohm at quarterback in week sixteen. The Bills also announced that they have placed quarterback Trent Edwards on injured reserve, and signed Gibran Hamdan.

Hamdan was released to make room for Brohm about halfway through the season. Ryan Fitzpatrick will not play in week 16, but he might be avalible in week 17. Brohm has not started in his two seasons in the NFL.

In a poll on the Bill's website, over 85% of fans voted that they wanted Brohm to start. According to Bills head coach Perry Fewell, Brohm does not know the Bills offense well enough to be effective.

Redskins Pull Gimmicks, Embarras Fans

It is being called the worst play in NFL history, an embarrassment of the organization.

The Redskins tried running a trick play at the end of the first half, where half of the line protecting the kick motioned to the far left side of the field. Then the Giants called a timeout. I thought it was a good move to try the fake before the timeout.

But calling the same exact trick play, twice in a row, is outrageous. The results showed.

Steelers To Sign Joey Galloway

The Post-Gazette is reporting that the Pittsburgh Steelers have signed free agent wide receiver Joey Galloway. Galloway last played with the New England Patriots, where he failed to make an impact.

The Steelers signed Galloway, after they placed wide receiver Limas Sweed on the reserve/illness list. According to the Post-Gazette, Galloway visited the Steelers this morning. In addition to Galloway, the Steelers signed longsnapper Jared Retkofsky.

Retkofski was signed to replace Greg Warren, who was placed on injured reserve yesterday. Last season Warren was placed on IR as well. Guess who was signed to replace him. Jared Retkofsky.

Brady Quinn Placed On IR

The Cleveland Browns have announced that they have placed starting quarterback Brady Quinn on injured reserve. Quinn will be replaced by Derek Anderson, who was the Browns starting quarterback in 2007.

With two games left in the regular season, Anderson will try to show new president Mike Holmgren that he belongs in Cleveland. When Anderson and Quinn were injured late last season, Josh Cribbs got snaps at quarterback.

I would not be surprised if Cribbs got more wildcat snaps in the next two weeks. Brett Ratliff is the Browns third quarterback, but will now serve as the Browns primary backup. Expect the Browns to add another passer.

BREAKING NEWS: Mike Holmgren Is A Brown

Adam Schefter of ESPN is reporting that the Cleveland Browns and Mike Holmgren have reached an agreement that will let Holmgren run the Cleveland Brown's football operations in 2010.

According to Schefter, there has not been any word on the title or responsibilities Holmgren will carry out. Holmgren's first big decision will be deciding the future of the current coaching and front office staff.

According to the Cleveland Browns, Mike Keenan will now serve as the Browns Chief Financial Officer. The Browns will spend the next week finalizing the contract, speaking of which, info on the deal has not been leaked, yet.

Nick Folk Era Ends In Dallas

Adam Schefter of ESPN is reporting that the Dallas Cowboys have signed free agent kicker Shaun Suisham. This morning, Calvin Watkins of ESPNDallas reported that the Cowboys had tryouts with four or five kickers.

Ed Werder of ESPN is reporting that the Cowboys could opt to place current kicker Nick Folk on injured reserve instead of releasing him. Suisham will face his former team in his first game as a Cowboy.

ESPN is now reporting that the Cowboys have released Folk. I am sure Folk will find a job in the NFL in 2010, he has one of the biggest legs in the NFL. David Beuhler is also on the Cowboys active roster, where he serves as a kickoff specialist.

Brady Struggles As Pats Slip By The Bills

Tom Brady pulled off one of the worst preformances of his career, and the Patriots keep on rolling. Not to rant here or anything, ok I'll just start the rant.

This game is just proof that Peyton Manning is far superior than Tom Brady, who happens to have a better team and a far better coach.

Brady completed 11 of 23 passes and threw for 115 yards. He toped it off with a touchdown pass to Randy Moss and an interception.

If Peyton Manning put up these numbers, Caldwell would be on the hotseat, and the Colts would be out of the playoff contention.

Back to the game.

After trailing in the second quarter by a field goal, the Patriots looked for Randy Moss, who somewhat compensated for his poor preformance last week against the Panthers. A 13 yard pass from Moss to Brady gave the Patriots the lead at the start of the second quarter.

The Patriots never looked back. 17-10 final

Titans Outlast Dolphins, Position Themselves For January

Under Vince Young things have changed for the Titans. after starting 0-6 with Kerry Collins under center, the Titans decided that they had enough. Under Young, the Titans are 7-1 in 2009.

The Titans held the Dolphins with a 24-6 lead, but by the end of regulation, the Dolphins had put up 18 straight points. Rob Bironas' 46-yard field goal gave the Titans a three point overtime victory.

Titans running back Chris Johnson ran for over 100 yards, for the ninth time in 2009, as he tries to close in on the single-season rushing record. Chad Henne threw for 343 yards, but he also threw three interceptions.

Josh Cribbs Breaks Kick Return TD Record

With a 100-yard kick return touchdown against the Chiefs, Josh Cribbs becomes the most productive kick returner in the history of the NFL. Cribbs broke the NFL's record for most career kickoff return touchdowns.

With eighth career kickoff return touchdowns in the bag, Cribbs will be looking for a new contract, in the bag. Cribbs has returned three kickoffs for touchdowns in 2009, and he has also returned a punt for a touchdown.

Cribbs is currently second in fan voting for the AFC's return specialist for the pro bowl. Cribbs broke his record again today, as he returned a second kickoff 103 yards for the score, and put the Chiefs in a stranglehold.

Terrell Owens To Play With The Redskins In 2009

Chris Mortenson of ESPN.com is reporting that Buffalo Bills wide receiver, Terrell Owens, who is scheduled to be an unrestricted free agent after the season, could sign with the Washington Redskins.

Mike Shanahan, who is rumored to be interested in the Redskins coaching job, has been a long supporter of Owens. When Owens signed with the Dallas Cowboys in 2006, Shanahan was the Cowboy's top challenger in Owen's signing.

Shanahan likes larger wide receivers (ex. Brandon Marshall), and Santana Moss does not provide Shanahan with that. Wherever Owens departs to in 2010, expect a cap friendly one-year contract.

Cardinals To Trade Anquan Boldin After The Season

Adam Schefter of ESPN is reporting that the Arizona Cardinals could trade wide receiver Anquan Boldin after the end of the 2009 offseason. According to theredzone.org, the Ravens could be interested.

Boldin has been looking for a new contract for over two years, but the Cardinals have held their ground and have not granted Boldin a new deal. Steve Breaston, the Cardinals third receiver, has shown promise, and would step up into a larger role.

The Ravens have long been looking for a star wide receiver, in fact, in the short history of the Baltimore Ravens, they have never had "the guy" who can make huge plays. The Ravens thought they got the guy in 2002, when they traded for Terrell Owens. After a world class tantrum, Owens never wore a Ravens uniform.

Randy Moss Could Be Traded To Vikings In 2010?

Chris Mortenson is reporting that New England Patriots wide receiver Randy Moss could be traded to the Minnesotta Vikings in the offseason. According to Mortenson, with Moss' recent struggles, the Patriots could opt to trade the star receiver.

Vikings quarterback Brett Favre tried to convince Packers president Ted Thompson to trade with the Raiders in 2007 to aquire Moss. The Vikings would have a dominate trio of receivers consisting of Randy Moss, Sidney Rice, and Percy Harvin. Similar to Moss, Welker, and Stallworth.

Ochocinco will Not Wear Chris Henry Uniform Today

Adam Schefter of ESPN.com is reporting that Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Chad Ochocinco will not wear a Chris Henry uni9form in today's game. According to Schefter Ochocinco texted him and told him that he will not wear number 15.

According to Schefter, Ochocinco does not want it to become a distraction to the Bengals. In particular Ochocinco said "Chris would want it the way it is". The NFL Players Association said they would pay for any fine Ochocinco would get for wearing No. 15.

The Bengals helmat will feature a logo with the number 15 on it. If you remember when Johnny U died and Peyton Manning tried a simular tribute, he backed off."Somebody's passed away. I don't want to create a controversy over it,'' Manning said. "I did talk to one of (Unitas') sons, Joe, last night. He said he thought that it would be great, he'd love it. But the league called Bill this morning and said absolutely not. It would result in a horrendous fine, so Bill just said that he would recommend that I don't do it.''

Nick Folk Misses Almost Costly Field Goal

With a playoff spot in veiw, the Dallas Cowboys still have a glaring need that they need to fill if they want to compete in January. Nick Folk, who missed a 24 yard field goal last night, will likely be released in the next few days.

Folk has missed a field goal in his last six games, and now has little respect of Cowboy fans. Folk has only made four of his last eleven kicks. David Buehler, the Cowboys kick off specialist, could get a chance to replace Folk.

According to DallasCowboys.com one reason for Folk's poor play could be related to a torn labrum in his right hip. Folk had surgery on his hip in the offseason.

Cowboys Stop Prefection, Defeat Saints

The Colts now stand alone as the only team fighting for perfection next week. The Dallas Cowboys defeated the New Orleans Saints 24 to 17, in a game that went down to the wire. The Saints scored 14 straight points to end a losing effort.

Tony Romo lead the Cowboys in their ninth win of 2009, which puts Dallas in good position for a spot in the playoffs. Romo completed 22 of 34 passes for over 300 yards, and did not throw an interception.

The Dallas victory hurt more in Atlanta than it did in New Orleans, as the Falcons were eliminated from the playoffs. The Cowboys win the tiebreaker over the Falcons due to their early season victory against Atlanta.

With Saints star tight end Jeremy Shockey out, David Thomas, who played with the Patriots during their 16-0 season, picked up the slack. The Cowboys did a good job of keeping Drew Brees on his toes, and managed to contain Pierre Thomas.

Jeremy Shockey Out Vs. Cowboys

Jason La Canfora of NFL Network is reporting that the New Orleans Saints will be without Jeremy Shockey as they take on the Dallas Cowboys tonight. Shockey is dealing with a toe injury.

Shockey was listed as questionable in the Saints injury report.

Wide receiver Lance Moore will be active and will start.

John Carney; Usama Young; Marcus McCauley; Jabari Greer; Anthony Waters; Jamar Nesbit; and Sedrick Ellis are also inactive.

The Baltimore Sun is reporting that Food Network's Ace of Cakes crew visited the Baltimore Ravens today. Cheif Duff and Ravens defensive tackle Haloti Ngata worked on a cake that turned out awesome.
