The Associated Press is reporting that Baltimore Ravens safety Ed Reed could retire. Reed told the AP that there is a 50% chance that he will retire. Reed is probably the Ravens best player on defense.
Reed is in my opinion the best safety in the history of the NFL. Reed has great awareness in coverage, good hands, and solid tackling ability. Something that is very hard to find. Reed has intercepted 46 career passes.
What I remember Reed for was not his interceptions, but what he did after he intercepted a pass. Reed has returned 13 interceptions for touchdowns in his career. Reed intercepted tow passes yesterday, but only one counted. The one that counted, he fumbled.
