Giants Fire Bill Sheridan

The New York Giants have announced that they have fired defensive coordinator Bill Sheridan. Sheridan served as the Giants linebackers coach in 2008, and was promoted to defensive coordinator in 2009.

The giants let up the second most points in franchise history in 2009, after they were thought as one of the best defensive units in 2008. Sheridan could find work as a linebackers coach or a defensive assistant.

Sheridan could find work with the St. Louis Rams where he would meet up with Steve Spagnuolo, who Sheridan worked under in New York. It is unlikely that the Giants will hire an in house candidate for defensive coordinator.
