Rick Maese of the Washington Post is reporting that the Washington Redskins new general manager Bruce Allen has not spoken to Redskins starting quarterback Jason Campbell. Campbell's contract expires after the season.
Right now Campbell is scheduled to be a restricted free agent, but if a new CBA deal is reached, Campbell will be an unrestricted free agent. The Redskins have been choosing Sam Bradford in most mock drafts, and it seems to me as if the mocks may indeed be correct.
The Washington Post is reporting that the minimum tender for Campbell would be 3.14 million, and if they increased their offer by $100,000, they would get first and third round compensation if another team signs Campbell.
My question for you is: Should the Redskins re-sign Campbell, or should they draft Sam Bradford or add a quarterback in free agency.
Resign Campbell, get a strong o-line
ReplyDeleteI agree, Samuels will probably retire, and Heyerhas been a disaster. Rabach is nothing special. Dockery is only a short term guy. Not many people realize that Campbell has played pretty well considering how little time he gets in the pocket
ReplyDeleteLet Campbell go. His ratings are good because of most of very short throws. He is playing for himself, not for winning. How many points did we scored? He rarely score winning touchdowns within game ending 2 min. And a lot of mistakes including fumbles do not count on ratings. He made so many mistakes including fumbles. He does not know how to step up from pocket to avoid sacks. Instead he throws quick. So many short throws(almost all throws are short)- very ineffective- poor judgements- doesn't know how to win- very inconsistant(get one or couple of very good drives then nothing happens till game ends- lose of focus. Again his good ratings come from very short throws. Campell is smart. Throw a lot of short throws and get good rating. I bet in some games he played last year, he didn't even try to throw a long one, say 15 yards.
ReplyDeleteI say the Redskinssign him to a one year tender, and draft Bradford or Clausen to compete with him in camp, like Shanahan did with Plummer and Cutler.
ReplyDeletewhoever wrote that anonymous like 2 scrolls up is a tard. We need to get a oline and we will take oline in the draft. we will take okung and sign Campbell to a 1 year tender. I also would really like the redskins to get a wr in free agency because time in and time out Moss is not a #1 reciver and is better in the slot cuz he is so fast and the there is a big crop to choose from. i could see the redskins taking Brandon Marshall becuz of shannahan. I also could see us in round 2 going on a guy like Daryl washington as a replacement to fletcher because he is 35.
ReplyDeleteY&eah, with Samuels' likely to retire I think OT is the Redskins top priority, but I don't think the Redskins should add a receiver, I think they should continue to wait on Malcolm Kelly and Devin Thomas.
ReplyDeleteSome people do not understand the question.
