Last night the NFL announced t6hat they fined Colts safety Melvin Bullitt $5,000 for his hit on Mark Sanchez in the AFC Championship game. Here is the play....
I thought the hit was legit, and I don't think Bullitt had the intent of hurting Sanchez,, BUT it should have been flagged. The refs from the AFC Championship admitted that the call should have been a late hit.
Here is a quote from Bullitt:
"Five thousand dollars, that hurts," Bullitt said. "I understand [Ryan] being mad because that's his quarterback, but I didn't try to hurt him. I was just playing football. I didn't know if he had the ball or not. I was coming from behind."
