Tim Kawakimi of the San Jose Mercury News is reporting that the Oakland Raiders could hire former Detroit Lions head coach Steve Mariucci. Mariucci was rumored to be the frontrunner for the job at USC.
Of course Mariucci ended up just being a rumored candidate, after the Trojans hired Tennessee's Lane Kiffin hours after the rumor surfaced. Mariucci currently works as an anaylist for NFL Network.
Mariucci failed to develop Joey Harrington into a quality quarterback while he was coaching the Lions. Mariucci has also coached in California and with the San Francisco 49ers. Mariucci has been out of the NFL since 2006.
