Raiders Keep Cable As Coach In 2010

Adam Schefter of ESPN is reporting that the Oakland Raiders will retain Tom Cable as their head coach in 2010. Cable has one year left on his contract, and it would not be surprising if he does not return next season.

According to ESPN, Davis was kept Cable because he was popular with the players. Cable has a 9-19 record as the Raiders head coach. The funny thing about cable, is that his college coaching record is even worse than his pro record.

In fact Cable has never been a head coach of a team with a winning record. Cable held an 11-35 record as a collegiate head coach. Before being named the Raiders interim head coach in 2008, Cable served as the Raiders offensive line coach.
