The Mercury News is reporting that the Oakland Raiders will likely fire head coach Tom Cable today. The Raiders have fired six coaches since the start of the 2002 season. The Raiders were 5-11 in 2009.
The Raiders were 2-7 under JaMarcus Russell, and 3-4 under Bruce Gradkowski and Charlie Frye. Raiders cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha and the other Raiders captains said that they hope Cable is back next year.
The Raiders have lost at least 11 games in the last seven seasons, which is a record. The Raiders have not been looking at head coach candidates, one reason could be because no coaches are interested.
