The Washington Redskins have announced that they have fired now former head coach Jim Zorn. According to ProFootballTalk, the Redskins dismissed Zorn from the facility to 4:43 this morning.
The most likely candidate to be hired is Mike Shanahan, who has been rumored to be the Redskins next coach ever since the Redskins hired Bruce Allen. According to Jason La Canfora of NFL Network, Shanahan already has his staff ready.
Shanahan has been rumored to be a candidate to coach the Texans, but sources around the NFL are saying otherwise. The redskins will likely interview Jerry Gray and/or Greg Blache to fulfill the Rooney Rule.
