Adam Schefter of ESPN is reporting that the Kansas City Chiefs are expected to hire former Cleveland Browns head coach Romeo Crennel as their defensive coordinator. Hip surgery prevented Crennel from coaching in 2009.
Speaking of hips, Crennel had some pretty big love handles. Chiefs GM Scott Pioli worked with crennel in New England. The Chiefs defensive coordinator is currently Clancy Pendergast, who lead the Cardinals defense to a Super Bowl last season.
The Chiefs could also add Charlie Weis as their offensive coordinator, which would create a less talented version of the Patriots early Belichick staff. Both Weis and Crennel struggled as head coaches.
