Seahawks Hire Gibbs To Coach Offensive Line

With the recent hiring of Pete Carroll as the Seahawks head coach, Carroll has already made a key hire in his first couple of hours as the Hawks' head coach. Chris Mortenson of ESPN.com is reporting that the Seahawks have hired Alex Gibbs to coach their offensive line.

Gibbs was serving as the Houston texans' assistant head coach and offensive assistant. Gibbs helped develop a strong running attack in Atlanta that featured Warrick Dunn and T.J. Duckett. Duckett is currently a Seahawk.

Gibbs helped the Texans create one of the top rushing units in the NFL in 2008, and he helped create a solid offensive line while he was in Houston. Other than Howard Mudd, I think Gibbs is the best offensive line guru in the NFL.
