Texans Hire Dennison Offensive Coordinator

The Houston Chronicle is reporting that the Houston Texans have hired Denver Broncos offensive line coach Rick Dennison as their offensive coordinator. Dennison replaces Kyle Shanahan.

Shanahan left to join his father, Mike, in Washington where Kyle is serving as the redskins' offensive coordinator. Kubiak and Dennison played with each other in the 80's with the Broncos. Kubiak was Elway's backup, and Dennison played linebacker.

In 2006 Kubiak tried to hire Dennison as his offensive coordinator. Mike Shanahan did not let him, and Kubiak hires Shanahan's son, Kyle. The Denver Post expects the Broncos to change offensive schemes without Dennison.
