2010 Free Agency Preveiw: Centers

Without a salary cap, the 2010 crop of free agents looks bleak, but there could be more players available for trades, and more players will be released. Here is a list of the top five centers scheduled to be unrestricted free agents at the start of free agency.

  1. Kevin Mawae - Will be 39 at the start of next season, but he did not play like he was 38 in 2009. Moves pretty well. Is a natural leader. Is solid at pulling and trapping.
  2. Casey Wiegmann - Has good smarts and mobility, but he is not as agile as he was when he was first drafted. Solid technique.
  3. John Wade - Smart, dependable, but will not blow anyone off their feet at his age. Plays hard.
  4. Casey Rabach - Smallish center that struggles against big defensive tackles, but he has solid quickness and smarts. Does not allow up sacks. Is very tough and has played with injuries.
  5. Dennis Norman - Can play all three interior spots on the line. Solid backup.

Quarterbacks - Running Backs -Tight Ends - Wide Receivers - Offensive Tackles - Offensive Guards - Centers - Defensive Ends - Defensive Tackles - Outside Linebackers - Inside Linebackers - Cornerbacks - Safeties - Kickers - Punters - Long Snappers
