Buccaneers Will Release Byron Leftwich

Rick Stroud of the St. Petersburg Times is reporting that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will release Byron Leftwich. Leftwich started three games in 2009 and threw four touchdowns and three interceptions.

Leftwich's best season was in 2004 when he started 14 games, completed 60% of his passes, threw for almost 3,000 yards and had a two-to-one touchdown ratio. Leftwitch has struggled to play at that level since the Jaguars released him.

According to Pewter Report wide receiver Michael Clayton, cornerback Torrie Cox, defensive tackle Ryan Sims, and defensive tackle Chris Hovan could also be released.
