
Tom Kowalaski is Michigan Live is reporting that he expects the Detroit Lions to go after Carolina Panthers running back DeAngelo Williams this off season. The Lions could give up their second round pick for Williams.
Williams had surgery on his foot Monday for an undisclosed injury. Williams ran 216 times for over 1,100 yards in 2009. His backup (co-starter), Jonathan Stewart, also ran for over 1,100 yards. The first time two runners on the same team have done that.
It is no secret that the Lions are interested in adding a running back. Willie Parker and Reggie Bush among others have been mentioned in rumors. LenDale White, who played under Schwartz could also be considered.
