Adam Schefter of ESPN is reporting that the Oakland Raiders have re-signed kicker Sebastian Janikowski. According to Schefter, the Raiders made Janikowski the richest kicker in the history of the NFL.
Janikowski has the strongest leg in the history of the NFL, and I can't remember another kicker being drafted in the first round in the past 20 years. BUT, Janikowski has struggled with his accuracy at times.
In the past couple of seasons, the Raiders have given Tommy Kelly the largest contract for a defensive lineman, Shane Lechler the largest contract for a kicker, and Nnamdi Asomugha the largest contract for a cornerback.
