Browns Release Derek Anderson

IL: Cleveland Browns v Chicago Bears
The Browns have released quarterback Derek Anderson after acquiring Seattle Seahawks' quarterback Seneca Wallace in a trade. Mike Holmgrem says that it would have been a long-shot for both him and Brady Quinn to be on the roster.

"I want to thank Derek for everything that he gave to the Cleveland Browns organization over the last five years," coach Eric Mangini. "He did everything we asked of him and it was a pleasure to coach such a competitive person. I want to wish him all the best in the future."

Anderson might have another shot at quarterback with some teams, maybe. Anderson hasn't had a good season since 2007. His only good season, as we all may recall, was just in 2007. After that, it was all just a disappointment.

He'll be given another shot. But if he doesn't live up to that, it may be his last chance.

  1. Delhomme would be a great fit. If only the Brownies can find a taker for Brady Quinn.

Re-sign Cribbs and Cleveland could have another promising season.

  2. Sure thing. Rooting on my terps! As for Delhomme, I think he will be a solid backup somewhere. If he can stay healthy he is better than Quinn
