The UFL might be about to get another big name this off season.
According to Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk, Russell will sign with the Omaha Nighthawks. Russell would join Ahman Green if he signed with the Nighthawks.
According to Florio, Russell's signing is a long way away, but the Nighthawks have had internal discussions about Russell.
Last year J.P. Losman tried a similar strategy. To a degree Losman's strategy worked, landing him a spot as the Seahawks third quarterback, but he also failed to really impress anyone with his play in the UFL.
Russell publicly stated he was not interested in joining the CFL or the AFL.
