About

Reservation For Six is a pro football blog owned by Bryan Brackney. Launched in December 2008, Reservation For Six is known for its coverage of alternate football leagues in addition to their coverage of the NFL.

Bryan first started blogging at Bleacher Report, and like most "bleacher creatures," Bryan had a blog. His was Reservation For Six. Bryan also had short stints blogging for Fanball's Panther blog Real Bits of Panthers, and FanHuddle's Colts blog, Colts Commentary.

The name Reservation For Six was picked up by Bryan from watching Shannon Sharpe on CBS. Sharpe would throw out an uncommon line when a player was in the open field scoring a touchdown. "...and he has a reservation for six..." Sharpe would mumble in a way that would remind you of your three year old son trying to talk with marbles in his mouth.

Then in December 2008, Reservation For Six was created.

Since then there have not been a lot of mentions of "reservation for six's", except for a few every now and then on SportsCenter. No one knows why Sharpe stopped using the term, and Bryan has been unable to track Sharpe down and ask him.

In the early days Reservation For Six had the domain http://www.rfor6.blogspot.com/. Rfor6 was the early abbreviation of Reservation For Six, but it never caught on. The early colors of the site were black and orange.

Bryan also started "The Colts Corner," which had a domain of indcolts.blogspot.com. After maybe seven months, the site was shut down. The Colts Corner twitter page can be seen here. Former Colts Corner blogger Josh Dhani started a new blog called Colts Corner in the summer of 2010.

Reservation For Six first hit the national spotlight in the summer of 2010, when the blog broke news of former Denver Broncos GM Ted Sundquist joining the Omaha Nighthawks of the United Football League.

In the fall of 2010 Reservation For Six was becoming swamped with aspiring pro football players looking for tryout information. In the late fall of that year, Reservation For Six had the infamous launch of ProFootballTryouts.net, which went out of business after three weeks.

Reservation For Six no longer posts football tryout information in an effort to focus more on pro football news, rumors, and analysis.

The sky isn't the limit for Reservation For Six, the heavens are.
